We’re absolutely thrilled to announce, in collaboration with our friends at Mattel, Dovetail will be releasing a brand-new standalone Thomas & Friends™ experience across the Island of Sodor. Thomas & Friends™: Wonders of Sodor will be coming soon in 2026.

Hop into the cabs of North Western Railway’s classic steam team to enjoy timeless stories and all-new narratives right from the drivers’ seats. Explore the Wonders of Sodor - fun and magic await!

Take the controls of Thomas, Percy, Gordon, Emily, and Diesel to explore iconic landmarks across the Island of Sodor faithfully recreated for the first time in a video game. At Sir Topham Hatt’s invitation, carry passengers in Annie & Clarabel along Thomas’ branch line, hurry Express passengers over the top of Gordon’s Hill, or transport freight with the Troublesome Trucks.

What to expect:

Experience the sights, sounds, and feelings of Sodor as you explore iconic Thomas & Friends™ locations like you’ve never seen them before, including Tidmouth Sheds, Knapford Station, and the famous Windmills.

A total of 8 stories await including Thomas & Gordon, Thomas & Bertie’s Great Race, Percy’s Troublesome Day, and more. Each story features full narration by the legendary Mark Moraghan for the ultimate storytelling immersion.

Thomas & Friends™: Wonders of Sodor is powered by Train Sim World, combining the unparalleled detail and realism of Unreal Engine and Simugraph with accessible controls to create a timeless experience that all Thomas & Friends™ fans can enjoy.

Well, that wasn't surprising.

Before you guys said this, not this is not an early April Fools Day announcement, which isn't the case at all, but it's something really different. Look guys, yes, I love Thomas & Friends (Seasons 1-6 (sometimes 7-11), 17-21), but I feel like the new Wonders of Sodor game was a little unsurprising, considered the fact since TSW had a mixed response for fans and some gamers, but that's my opinion. I don't know what to expect from this, and what do you guys think?...

Is this a asset flip?

If you look behind the devs they have already made a thomas the tank engine dlc for a game called 'train sim world 5' and if you look at the screenshots the inside of thomas is the exact same of the screenshots for this game. I dont mean to be nit picky but it just seems fishy To be clear i dont mind the re use of assets but i have a feeling this game will be full price considering the developers prices Edit: what will make this different from the dlc?...
