Yes, and you need to equip the Covenant item for summons.

The droprate from the Silver Knights are Rare so Gold Serpent Ring, Symbol of Avarice and Sage Crystal Rapier will help.

i dont have gold serpent or the crystal rapier but i have Symbol of Avarice.

I can drop you those in a bit if you wish. Rusted coins will also work, reloading the game after each item drop will also help. All knights drop the items including the ones after Pontiff (but these are a pain to fight with and there is more running to do).
