How do i get symbol of avarice?

I threw the undead charm at the mimic, took the loot, but didn't get the helmet.
Am i doing something the wrong way?

Also, is there a way to raise an area to NG+1 like in 2?

It is not a guaranteed drop, you have to repeat it till you get lucky.

Just normal. Finish the game in NG and you go to the next. No bonfire ascetic, I am afraid.

And this is how you farm the mimic for the symbol. You can try the 2 mimics in Profane Capital. Higher chance of drop, one charm for both.

Although, they say that if you kill all mimics in the game you can return to where they were after reloading the area and perhaps there will be the symbol of avarice. Happened to me on one of the characters and it was the mimic in Lothric Castle. This exact one that I am farming in the video.
