Widescreen and Controller Broken

I just fired up the game today huge black bars on the sides(no wide screen support?).

Also, my controller is all messed up, the left joy stick acts as arrow kids consuming and equipping stuff. Any idea what's going on or howto fix it?

Had the controller issue on Dark Souls 2, the square button as X and the X button acted as O, almost deleted my save by accident because of it. Restarting game and unplugging and plugging back in the controller fixes it but i have to do it almost every time

Turns out it was the turbo button. *shrug*

My save was deleted as well, no clue why. Had some random patch. Save is gone, widescreen is fubar.
