Revisit DS3 or buy Elden Ring?

Hey, so I last played DS3 like 3 years ago, and I wanted to know if its worth starting a level 1 character again. Is Online still active?
Or should I just move on to Elden Ring?

Elden Ring is boring and has many cheaters if you play online. Best to stick with DS3 until From Software releases Dark Souls 4

Try ER otherwise you will always wonder why others are lauding it.
Personally I found it over -flowing with extraneous items, quests and duplicated bosses yet enjoyed the single run through.
Hours: DS3 = 6 k
ER = 1 k
