DARK SOULS™ III

To the people with all achievements
What did you guys do with covenant rewards required for specific achievements? Did you just spawn the covenant items in or did you actually farm for them? (also applies to DS1 and 2, but I just posted it here because I wanna finish DS3 first)

Follow up question: would it be "fair" to just spawn them in? Cuz it does seem like a hell of a grind... I'm talking offline grind here btw, I just don't like multiplayer, not because of pvp, but like in general...

the platinum trophy is to signify you played 100% of the game. if you are going to spawn or farm cov items to get the trophy, you are explicitly avoiding playing 100% of the game. lots of people dont like souls pvp and dont want to do the pvp covenant grind, thats totally understandable...but if youre not actually going to play 100% of the game, why not just move on to the next game? why invest time into getting a trophy that signifies you played 100% of the game when youre not playing 100% of the game?

Farmed for them. You can also buddy up with someone here on the forums to summon each other to farm covenant items easy. I've done that a couple times, it's just so tedious to farm the items on every new character. Some aren't so bad, but the Vertebrae Shackles seem to be the worst, and dark pyro is one of my favorite builds in this game.

I farmed for a long time. Put on the Symbol of Avarice, popped some rusted coins and wasted way too many hours.
I was invading on the side as I was farming but as I am not that skilled in pvp, I got most of my covenant items from farming hours upon hours.

In the first game, you completely convert your build to rarity. For some covenants, you find someone and get help or you farm for a long time.

Watchdogs of Farron can be obtained in 1 hour by killing gurus.

Rosaria's Fingers: 10 victories. Unknown duration

Mound-Makers: Help from a friend. 15 minutes. The host will commit suicide. Very easy in places with cliffs.

Aldrich Faithful: 10 victories. Unknown duration

Warriors of Sunlight. You get help from a friend. 15 minutes. For this, you will be in the Sun Covenant and will be called by the Mound Makers. And the host will commit suicide.

Blue Covenant and Blades of the Darkmoon: It takes 15 hours to collect kept. In pvp, you have to wait to fulfill the conditions. You may not always win and the number of players is low.

You play up to ng+3 for rings.
The hardest achiev was the ring one for sure, I had to replay the game 3x to get the one from Yellowfinger
I got them without farming when the game was active
I farmed for mine way back in the day

I don't think any of the Dark Souls games requires going beyond NG+2.

DS1 it's about getting all the boss weapons. Since you can make three different weapons using Sif's soul, and you can only get of each boss soul per playthrough, you need to get to NG+2. You also can't get both Ornstein's and Smough's souls on a single playthough, but you can get one in NG and the other in NG+.

DS2 I believe can technically be done without NG+, but this requires ranking up in the multiplayer covenants, which is not easy. Starting in NG+2, an NPC will sell those specific covenant rewards, allowing you to get the last few spells needed for those achievements. And it has to be NG+2; Bonfire Ascetics won't work. I still don't have these achievements yet, just need to put the time in.

DS3 it's the achievement for all rings, and again it requires NG+2. IIRC, the last ring is behind Nameless King, so you'll have to beat him in NG+2. Surprisingly, by properly gearing up for him, I found him easier than in NG.

NG+2 (journey 3) is enough, all rings spawn there. The only hard to farm covenant is darkmoon because of how item discovery works in this game and how many items are dropped by silver knights. Sunbro and moundmakers you can do very quickly with help of another player (undead settlement bonfire highly recommended).

OP, do what you want but I personally don't see the point in spawning items to get achievements. If I don't want to lose time on farming, I just don't do it.

ok guys nevermind, I'm just gonna grind for them, just got my hands on Symbol of Averice, put on every discovery boosting gear I had and got 4 Sunlight Medals in the span of like 10 Minutes. I already have some farming spots in mind for the others that I think should be decent, so I think this will be fine? But still thank you for all the replies ^^

You can get sun medals very quickly by being summoned via red sign while equipped with sun covenant. Similar method works for moundmakers.

I sent you a request. If you want, I can help you with these two. You should save your sanity for farming darkmoon..

I got most, if not all, of them naturally with the exception of the Watchdogs covenant ( nobody carted that much about it back then) But I've been playing since launch so it's a bit different. The population base is a fraction now so I highly recommend to grind it out with enemy drops or drop them and grind the last 1/2.

Darkmoon/ Blue covenant took the longest for me. Idk why I posted this as Veel perfectly encapsulated it above. Hope you get the achievements.

Technically, you need to play not until the moment you press ng+2, but until after. That is, it is like calling minute 0 as minute 1 in a football match. That is why I said until ng+3.
