Only the bosses of this game are the best. I criticize everything else.
Pot calling the kettle black
The combat is IMO the best in any Souls game. It's the most refined of them all, Elden Ring has more moves, but more isn't necessarily better. DS3 just feels so damn tight the way the other two DS or ER never will. It has the best bosses too IMO. Suly, Friede, Nameless, I could go on and on.
The level design, eh, I dunno. Some of the individual parts are really good but the way it all strings together feels like a patchwork rollercoaster. Most boring poison swamp, too. DS1 flows pretty seamlessly up to Lost Izalith. DS2 is a mess, but a pretty, vast mess.
I know story isn't much in the forefront as much in these games, but I found it a bit uninspired, it feels like a retread of DS1. I actually enjoyed DS2 story and lore the most.
