Thinking about revisiting, want weapon recommendations.
Hello! As said, thinking about playing Dark Souls 3 again. I'm thinking about trying another faith build (preferred way to play, slamming lightning spears is fun.), or maybe a pyro build. What are some solid options for an infused weapon? I *have* done an exile curved greatsword and a Lothric Knight Greatsword run with those weapons infused, but they tend to be rather restrictive due to their weapon as effective as they are.

What are some lighter alternatives that are solid for an elemental build?
(This is probably gonna be single player, I don't really do online because I don't like PvP.)

I did a Spear/Lightning Spear Cleric in DSR was a lot of fun and a heavy Lance Paladin with support miracles in SotfS, but nothing in DS3 yet.
Thrall Axe.

I had two of 'em on my Pyromancer. One infused Chaos and one infused Dark.
They only require 8 STR/DEX and they come with Quickstep.
sharp lothric knight sword or sellsword twinblade is the way
I play PS version, and I've found a Dark/Sharp Lothric Knight Sword to be wonderful. I also like Pyromancies with faith, so the Pyromancy hybrid talisman I find incredibly useful. Lothric Knight set is easily attainable, and is in my opinion the best set overall barring Crystal Sage fight. Another option is Uchigatana or Claymore. Shield of Want is also great, but a Silver Eagle Kite Shield will do until you can get to Ashen Lake.

Yeah I mean, Lothric Knight Straight Sword is the old reliable. That's pretty much my first (safe) pick, but I was thinking *maybe* something else? We'll see, hah.

theres black knight greatsword and hollowslayer GS, all top tier too. u could use any with a quality build or respec as needed
Yee, I suppose there's a few lighter Greatswords I could infuse for a run.
Claymore is love. Claymore is life.

Also, I second the sellsword (t)winblades
I felt like updating this, not sure if anyone cares: But I ended up grabbing the astora greatsword and blessed infusing it. You know, it's hilarious just how hard Blessed handicaps your builds, and yet I'm steamrolling the game with it anyway. Not sure how you go into pontiff sulyvhan with an ultra greatsword that does like... 300 damage, and beat him on your first/second attempt, but I did that anyway. I ended up fighting the dancer early because I wanted the lothric divine tome, again, 300 AR at *41 faith*, and I first tried her. What a life.

Shouldn't surprise anyone that by the time I made it to Anor Londo and got myself the lightning infusement, my AR more than doubled. I finally, FINALLY, have 600+ AR on an ultra greatsword. My power levelling faith, at the cost of *everything* else, has paid off. I've been rolling with NINE vitaliy this whole time. Nine! Yet I'm sitting with a UGS, a chime, and about 21% damage absorb. 14 Endurance! I just killed Yhorm, after having gone to Lothric Castle, clearing the area, killing the consumed king and going to dark firelink, and I only *just* hit 1000 base health. My stat lineup is horrid, and I do this to myself. And I'm laughing about it. Gods, you level up so slow in 3.

Astora Greatsword is pretty good, it turns out. For like, what, 18 strength, 16 dex, and 8, EIGHT, weight, you can have a really solid UGS? Not sure who thought that would be alright, but here we are.

in elden ring it was nerfed hard (way more before the 2h weapon buffs). the greatness was restored only with the 'fire knight GS'. but sadly straight swords are still a mage tool or square off spam.

for faith investment i like pyro starter, gives you a nice amount of intel for early spells and faith for healing.
if you want a fun heavy and light alternative, i'd recommend the Great Wooden Hammer, it only weighs 6 (it performs poorly on physical infusions but very decent on elemental ones like lightning, chaos and dark)
using the astora straight sword is nice too early on, has good base damage

Dragonslayer's axe.

Eyyy, I actually got that on an item rando run recently. Got it in like, the second area? I think that thing alone carried me for half the game, it's surprisingly strong.
