Reverse BackStep??

Hello!
Can somebody explain to me how to reverse backstep on keyboard please?

press Space without pressing or holding any of the WASD/directional keys

if you want to backstep while the character is looking at the camera then you have to turn your character around first and then press Space

i think he's referring to a particular move he may have seen tryhards do. The timing is really tight but it's basically pressing back *right after* pressing space all by itself (your normal backstep). Also, you can't be locked on. You can really do it any direction relative to the camera. Again, it's just extremely tight timing, especially out of neutral. The timing seems a bit more forgiving if done after an animation, such as rolling or attacking.

It's useful for certain pvp tricks if you can do it reliably otherwise it's just your general parlor trick pvp'ers likely learn while waiting for their red orbs to find a damn invasion, lol!

When I hear REVERSE backstep, I think you are talking about the weapon art on some daggers. To move across deep/thick liquid surfaces faster, like lava and deep poison?

Its not wtf. Backstep is what happens when you press space without direction input and "reverse" part of it is just about backsteping forward

Backstep and then hold a directional key other than the direction your character is facing.
The timing is a little tricky at first but its really simple.

Works the exact same way in Dark Souls 1 and Elden Ring.

its a trick that as your fighting someone they can do and it skips past you so they are behind you

Thats just how the backstab mechanic works. They predicted you would stand still or do an animation so they backstepped to quickly get behind you.
