lol you dont need to know greathammer moveset because it's the most readable thing ever.. once again, 1v1 me or any decent player from the pvp comminuty on a greathammer and only then dare to talk about things you are yet to understand, namely that speed is the key factor in ds3 pvp. if your weapon is slow, every whiff can be spaced on reaction and punished, whilst you can't punish anything.
no, you're wrong. spacing is the key element in souls pvp, you can space slow weapons without knowing their moveset because again, you don't need to know the moves if they have a 50 frames start up - that's something even my grandma can properly react to
You can't even make a consistent argument without contradicting yourself in a single comment. You first say that speed is the key and then change your stance to spacing is the key, well which one is it then ? It's like you don't even know your lingo either, "every whiff can be spaced on reaction", what the hell does that even mean ? A whiff is a hit that already missed, you don't need to space a whiff. You didn't even address my points either, as if trading isn't a thing, roll catching isn't a thing, weapon swapping isn't a thing, baiting isn't a thing, weapon arts aren't a thing.
you can't space without speed. weaps slower than gs 1hr1 can't space anything, whilst daggers and light cs are the easiest weaps to space with because they're also the fastest.
no, trading isnt a thing when you can do an r1 in gh recovery and roll back before gh user can do a second r1. rollcatching is a thing only with weaps that can rollcatch on reaction -- light css, daggers, rapiers, xbows. no other weaps can rollcatch if you roll correctly. again, it's pointless to address all those broad terms because you didnt play with decent players and don't know what stuff can bait and what cant. if you are so afraid of me go watch tourneys idk, or just tourney rules. you won't see a single greathammer because even broken straight sword is better than any greathammer
I'm not afraid of you, I just don't care about you. You speak as if the Great Hammer has to swing first, if you try to swing, the Great Hammer can trade into you thanks to the insane hyper armor, he doesn't care about his health, he'll win the trade every time. I don't care about tournaments either, we're talking about invasion. Seems like you don't know much about roll catching either, there are plenty of weapons that aren't in the weapon class you mentionned that are great at roll catching.
what if your opponent has their monitor turned on? do you think they won't dodge an attack with 50 frames start up? for reference, average human reaction time is 250ms. greathammer startup is 833ms. and no, invasions don't make it any faster
you can't rollcatch people who don't mash space with anything but daggers, rapiers, flip css and xbows. all other weapons can rollcatch only on prediction, i.e. can't if ur opponent has over 90 iq. it's okay that you didn't know such people exist because you play invasions (stomping new players) but still, acknowledging ur wrongs is important
Many Halberds are great at roll catching, spears, some greatswords, and yes, thanks for acknowledging that you can roll catch on prediction, finally. Still seems like you have no concept of what trading is so I'm just gonna leave these here and be done with it, that's going to prove my points better than any duel ever could :

lmfao ofc you watch trash youtubers who stomp clueless pve players at arena and call that skill lol. didnt expect anything else tbh
rollcatch on prediction = no rollcatch if ur opponent is a pvp player
"Trash YouTuber" when you have ChaseTheBro mentionned in your own steam description yourself, what a hypocrite. "PvE players in arena", bro you mad coping right now, do you even realise what you are saying ? You are making a clown of yourself dude.
my own steam desc is a joke if you couldn't tell. and yes, arena is for pve players. people who play pvp do it either on pontiffs or old wolf, because undead match has a nasty time restriction and bad arenas which encourage running. ppl like chase or fighter didn't duel at ow or pontiffs cus they're actually at pontiff random skill level and would be losing half of their matches (or more, depending on a fc because sometimes folks like dimka or apollo join)
Arena by nature is a PvP environment, PvE players don't play Arena, you're tripping if you think PvE players play Arena, I'm pretty sure there are more PvE players at Pontiff or old wolf because at least they are PvE areas.
compare ur winrate at undead matches and pontiff red sign summoning
I've dueled at Pontiff before, and it's nothing special, and I was far from Chase's skill level. Invasions at Pontiff were hard, but duels ? Pretty boring quite frankly. In any case I was never very interested in dueling anyways, invasions were where it's at.
once again it also depends on a fightclub, but overall average skill level at pontiffs is significantly higher than at arena
Whatever he case may be it's wild to claim that Arena is for PvE players.
