DARK SOULS™ III

DARK SOULS™ III

Statistiche:
help w dex builds
i recently got into soulsborne games, i started with “lies of p” which was a very simple and easy to understand game, however when i moved onto dark souls 3 i was left a little confused with how i should level up my stats, im currently using the Uchigatana (maxed out) which is a str/dex weapon, this is my 2nd play through and im confused cuz i thought i was supposed to level my strength and dexterity stats but i recently ive been watching a few people use the same weapon and not level up their strength stat at all.

so my question is, was i leveling up correctly or incorrectly? (also the nameless king is a pain in my a$$)

Caps for builds

Strength=66
Dex=79
Quality/strength+Dex=40/40
Intelligence=60
Faith=60

The only reason you should ever put stats in a different stat other than your main focus is for meeting equipment requirements.

uchi is a pure dex weapon, you just need to use a sharp gem on it. best uchi build is sharp gem + dex, either 40 or close to 80. Returns between 40 and 60 dex are not very good, but there is a scaling spike after 60 dex for 99% of sharp infused weapons. yes, you don't need to level strength for uchi at all.

in general, aim for 26-44 vigor. level endurance and vitality as you want, it depends on your skill and fashion (builds with more end tend to be more user-friendly, however I think that 26 is plenty). other stats are not needed at all

so should i reset my levels and put my strength into dexterity and others?

80 dex bruh

Have you ever used the stronger dex weapons such as a flamberge for example? They scale up great up to that point. I mean you could just stop at 40 but that leaves alot of damage off the table.

which area is that weapon found in i kinda wanna try something cool and new on new journey
!st paragraph is for the op, 2nd is for arguing when dex stop scalling.

Hi. Please take a look at this tool https://soulsplanner.com/darksouls3
It is the planner that will allow you to see what will be your dmg/hp/stamina etc if you make any build/level up etc.
It will allow you to see results(at least numbers) for yourself. Have in mind sometimes you wanna use a little bit weaker (number wise) weapon with better moveset, quicker attacks or longer reach.

About argument if DEX stop scalling at 79 or 80...
1.it's diffrent weapon to weapon
2.diffrence is literally non existing
If you wanna do dex, you probably wanna do sharp weapon. As far as I see most such weapons have crappy scalling past 75 (1 weapon dmg for 1 dex with once, maybe twice still getting 2 points of dmg per dex - seeing how early levels, can get you 4 or 5 dmg per dex I wouldn't call '2' "great" scalling anyway :D )
For flamberg, which you mentioned, for 15 str (minimal to wield it with 1 hand) you get 2 points at 76DEX, then you get 1 twice, and get 2 again at 79, after that you get 1 per dex till 89. Going with your sharp flameberg from 70-80 DEX gives you 2.8% boost in dmg, going from 80-89 gives you 1.6%, while going 60-70 gives you 4.3%.
For uchi which is used by op and 11 str you get last 2 for 78 dex, everything after is 1 till 87.
For sellsword twinblades (considered the best dex weapon dmg wise) and 10 str you get 2 last time at 81 and keep getting 1 till 85.
OH and giving any extra point in str may(and in most casses will) change the numbers i presented

it's the only greatsword that is best on dex, though still deals less damage than sharp claymore

I see your point but I would say Claymore is also "greatsword that is better with dex than str". I see without infusion it has a lil (a tiny) bit more dmg from str but sharp claymore is way better than heavy one.

it's not? 543 AR sharp dexbuild, 554 AR heavy str build. + defences from strength are way better
