Curse Rotted Greatwood

I’m at CR Greatwood. I’m just at level 24 and not a very strong player. Should i wait until I am a higher level to fight him?

You can use boss souls to buy weapons, rings, and spells after killing him. Grgw is a optional boss so it's ok to skip him until you're more powerful.

Rotted Greatwood is super weak to fire, so you could either try infusing a weapon with a Fire Gem (If you can take out the Demon in Undead Settlement with the help of Siegward, it drops a Fire Gem.)
or using Charcoal Pine Resin for temporary flaming weapon effect.

Being stocked up on firebombs would help as well, especially if you feel you're struggling to get up close in Phase 2.

Edit: And there's no rush to fight the Greatwood. As others said, it gives you the item for turning boss souls in to boss weapons, and most of the weapons have fairly high stat requirements, so you might not even be able to wield any of the weapons yet. For example, you beat Boreal Valley Vordt already, but his Hammer i think requires 30 Strength, which unless you've been dumping points in to Strength, you probably don't have that at level 24.
