FPS Stuttering and Low
Well, I can still play the game but on 1280x720 and low settings and still having performance issues. My computer specs are more than enough for me to get 60 fps at these settings.

This is a common problem. I leave these here to help you debug the issue. Please post if you find another solution to your FPS problem.
  1. Post the spec of your PC.
  2. If you're using a laptop, the issue might relates to your power management. For example, is the power cable always plugged into your laptop while you play?
  3. Turn off Windows Event Log in the services.
  4. Set DS3 to high priority. Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to bring up the "Task Manager" window, click on the "Details" tab, locate "DarkSoulsIII.exe" and right click on it, click on "Set priority", and click on "High".
  5. Change the processor scheduling to "Background services".

  6. The problem might be to do with your monitor's refresh rate. DS3 usually has problems running at anything higher than 60 FPS. If possible, play around with the settings of your monitor and/or refer to this thread:

  7. If you have an integrated GPU, ensure your game is using your graphics card instead of the integrated GPU.

I don't know... Situation is pretty weird. I'm getting good fps at most games.
My Specs :

ASUS NJ 550 JK
1,5 TB HDD
16 GB RAM
Intel Core I7 4700 HQ
GTX 850M

These should be enough for me to play at least on low / 1366x768

I tried some of the solutions that you have advised to me. Nothing changed unfortunately.
I'm almost sure I have no virus and my computers fans are clean. Because as I said, I have no
performance issues at other games.

I researched some and people says this game's optimization is well. I don't really know
what is happening with my pc.

Oh and, I somehow was getting 80 - 110 FPS yesterday. I know it's not possible
but yea, Steam was showing me around these and the game still was laggy.

Game is not unplayable but it's still pretty disturbing and preventing me to play properly.

Sorry to hear that your FPS issue is not resolved.

There is nothing wrong with your PC. Dark Souls 3 is poorly optimized for PC; has been like this since Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition.

DS3 is capped at 60 FPS and does not handle ultra-wide screens very well. My setup is nearly a decade old. I have a monitor at resolution 1920 x 1080 and the game still has FPS issues whenever I go to the first area of the Ringed City DLC. Had to use the NVIDIA program to lower my graphics settings. Since then this area still gives me very low FPS, but not as bad as before.

I played with this problem for a long time, but in the end only one thing helped - turning off multi-core processing. FPS became almost even 55-60, whereas before it could sink even to 35 frames. If you haven't tried it yet, try it. If it doesn't help, lower the settings through the Nvidia control panel
Ckaptain61 Feb 19, 2021 @ 3:47am
Okay so, I disabled multi core processing but now my pc is too slow and CPU usage is high.
And some of the games aren't even starting up. Dark Souls 3 ? It's getting stuck at black screen with that stylish cursor :D

I'm trying to deal with it right now.
I'll be in touch :D
Ckaptain61 Feb 19, 2021 @ 5:57am
So uh, disabling multi core processing made it even worse. So I enabled it back.

Maybe I did something wrong when I was disabling it ? Can you tell the exact thing that you've done ?
