FYI, my desktop PC is very old: i5-3570 CPU, 16 GB RAM, Geforce 1660 Super. I run the game on max settings, yet your seemingly better specs (albeit laptop) are not performing as well?
I don't have much experience with laptops. Have you tried using a program like Process Explorer to stop programs you don't need before running Dark Souls 3? The less apps and background processes running in the background, the better.
Try installing updated drivers for the components in your PC?
Windows 10 or 11?
I am stunned to see that you run this game on max settings with seemingly lower spec than the laptop, what the hell?
Just for my own sanity, are you experiencing any particular input lag ? like if you press the Roll button does that work right away?
I have monitored the background processes to see if it can be helped and while they are truly many of them, there isn't a major one drawing more than 1-5% of CPU and 0% GPU resources. The biggest one is that the browser was running with youtube on which I admit draws a ton of RAM, but the problem seems to not amend itself even without it.
I will try to see if driver update works, thanks for the suggestion.
I am running the game on Windows 10
I am looking to see if I can update the drivers and give it another try, otherwise a new laptop/PC is to be grabbed if savings allow it :D
Many thanks.
Maybe I am wrong, but I find it hard to believe your seemingly higher laptop specs and my desktop specs are the difference between running on Low Settings or High Settings. This game is 8 years old after all.
It could be your CPU that is the problem. I am too tired to determine right now!
