How do I reduce lag spikes and fps drops in DS3?

I've played Dark Souls 3 for about an hour today (I'm still in the tutorial area), and I noticed that I get a lot of lag spikes and my fps drops often. I set everything to low in my in-game settings, I play in full screen mode, and I have the game resolution set at 1280 x 768. I've tried every solution I could possibly think of: changing the in game resolution, changing my desktop monitor's graphic performance preference to high for Dark Souls 3 (in other words, having the game run on my actual GPU), changing the 3D settings in my Nvidia Control Panel (what settings are good for my specific graphics card?), etc. Also, when I play Dark Souls 3, I only have Discord, Steam, and Dark Souls 3 running (I end unnecessary background tasks).

So, how can I reduce lag spikes/fps drops when I'm playing Dark Souls 3? Thank you so much!

Here are my low end laptop specs!:

CPU: Intel Core i7-10510U @ 1.80 GHz

GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Max-Q Design, 4 GB

Memory: 16 GB Ram

HP P24h G5 monitor: 1920 x 1080 resolution, 60 Hz

System: Windows 10

A friend has some trouble running the game fullscreen, but once he sets it in windowed it fixes stuttering and fps drops... idk why, I play fullscreen and I have no problem

If you have a integrated gpu from intel you need to specifiy via NVIDIA Control panel that you are using your main card when you access the DarkSouls.exe and use your main GPU, you can even adjust the FPS as far as i know but i never tried it out i reduced it to 30FPS because it is easier to avoid
