Update: i can confirm that it dips to 57.
I agree. Cheap half fixes that alter the pc's behavior just for a single game is not my cup of tea when it's not the pc at fault. Either way i appreciate the advice. Since my new monitor arrived it lessened the effect of those traversals making it bearable. Could try that rollback back at some point if it gets really bad further on.
Fix 2 worked for me
To do so, open Steam console:
1. Press Win+R, or type "run" in Start menu.
2. Type "steam://open/console" without quotes.
In Steam console write and press enter:
1. download_depot 374320 374321 4471176929659548333 3168345489162603428
You will find downloaded files in Your-path-to-steam\steamapps\content\app_374320\depot_374321\Game
374320 - is Dark Souls III app id
374321 - is depot id of Dark Souls III files
4471176929659548333 - is manifest id of 25 August 2017 version of the game
3168345489162603428 - is manifest id of 25 August 2022 version of the game (it's a delta_manifest_id parameter; you need to set that parameter to download only those files that were changed between 25 August 2017 and 25 August 2022 (ie DarkSoulsIII.exe), otherwise it will download the whole game again)
