Even if the engine was 1:1 it would still require knowing how to change basically everything. Being able to replace textures is far easier than to replace environments, collision, and pathing.

Well the worst that sony can do is stop people from downloading it, but there's nothing stopping peopel from uploading it all over the place once its finished.
You should check again, because it can play almost 20 commercial games now, and some of them are nearly full speed. I think we will have Demon's Souls playable on PC by the end of the year. But you're gonna need a powerful system. Most people will probably not be able to actually get a good framerate.
