50 GB install size?
On the store page, it says 50 GB of storage space is required for Dark Souls 3 under the system requirements section.

That's not actually how big it is, right? Because that's insane if it is that big and a 50 GB game is kind of hard to fit on my SSD.

it's 20~30GB.

Could be the case. The 'next gen' games tend to have bigger filesizes and longer download and install times. I'm with you though 50g is crazy. Im used to seeding 10-11g install.

My jaw hit the floor when i saw how much space battlefiled 4 took up with all of its dlc and whatnot.

That would be more reasonable, but is that just a guess? Seems like it would be a little silly to post a 50 GB storage size requirement when it's actually quite a bit less.

Yeah, 50 GB does seem plausible nowadays even if it's still ridiculous (especially when Dark Souls 2 was more like 20 GB) so I'm wondering if 50 GB is actually accurate.

Wouldn't surprise me if 40-50 gb is actually the size of the game, it's pretty normal by now that AAA games are this huge, though download will be a little less probably.

It's common practice. XCOM 2 did it as well.

Bloodborne with DLC doesn't even reach 30GB.

Hm, good to know then.

Keep in mind that console downloads and installs are usually smaller than their pc counterparts. Usually because of textures and whatnot. So the pc version could be 50ish gigs

Textures for PC are the exact same resolution as console textures in DkS3.

lots of games are 50GB.. Im 99% sure Wolfenstein: The new order were something around 50GB. thats the only one who comes to mind right now, but there's A LOT more games that eat 50gigs..

Lot of the size is just audio files for different languages and so on.. After I bought Max Payne 3 on steam I actually torrented a re-pack from piratebay just to save space on my HDD back then.

I wish you could select what language-files to download when you install games on steam.

Why is that even a problem in 2016?

What if you just delete the language files? will Steam refuse to launch it?

I think it compares your files to the files in steam DB and re-downloads them because they're missing.
