DARK SOULS™ III

DARK SOULS™ III

Should I play Demon's Souls?
I can't wait to start the Dark Souls games. Should I play Demon's Souls first? It's only on PS3 and I'm terrified of the difficulty.

Is it worth it?

If you are terrified of the difficulty, don't start with Demons Souls. It's very unforgiving compared to the others. Start with DS1.
Embrace the difficulty. I only played it once, but I beat it at levl 12 with only a Greataxe. You should play it, but it isn't neccessary.
Demons souls is not even in the same world as dark souls. So you don't need to play it for lore or anything else

I played the games in this order DS1>DS2>DeS>BB........ Demon's Souls was the easiest one for me. If you've already played the newer ones, Demon's Souls will not be that hard.
If I only have a chance to play it... I would not doubt about it! :) (I have no PS3.)

K I'm going to do it that way then. Do you have a problem with that?

*puffs out chest*

You have no idea how tough I am dude. No idea what I'm capable of.
For your first souls game i would recommend either dark souls or demons souls, demon souls came first but is not tied to dark souls story wise. They are both fantastic games, personally i like dark souls better but demons souls is amazing aswell. Although going from dark souls to demons souls can make demons souls feel a little dated.
I played Demon's Souls first but since Dark Souls isn't set in the same universe you don't need to. Demon's Souls is much less fast and brutal than the later games (though you may find that difficult to beleive if you play it) so it does make for a good introduction to the combat and atmosphere.

If this is your first time getting into the Souls games then I must warn you, it's tough as nails. I know you think you already know that but dude, for serious. The most important thing is to never give up, keep trying new things and if you find yourself becoming despondant just try a new weapon, new direction or new stratagy. To surrender to your sorrow is to go hollow, always remember that.

If you just wanna play a great game and you have a PS3 go for it. It is not all all necessary to play the others though. The Dark Souls series is basically the spiritual successor to Demons. The mechanics have improved a lot since then especially on the pc. The terrible framerate on Demons on PS can be a bit painfull looking back but the game itself is great. I would at least start with DS1 on PC and use the GeDoSato mod for it to improve the framerate and garphics and the game will look and run waay better.

The demons souls framerate was fine, and what do you mean the mechanics were better on pc?
Demon's Soul was and still is amazing. It is brimming with atmosphere. Demon's Souls started it all. It should be played by any Souls fan. Also Sake Freke is so awesome.
nyet tendancy system .....overrated........... pvp twinking is rife with moongrass spamming .....kek
If you have a PS3 then yes, absolutely. Play them in order of release as a build up to DS3. :)
