Are there any mods that worth installing for first playthrough?

Any mod you install WILL get you banned. Out of all the games, Ds3 was by far and above the worst in terms of these bans, to the point even Shaders were getting people banned. Then if you receive 2 bans DURING A LIFETIME on any single steam account, your account is Perma banned, and cannot be rescinded.

So yeah, first playthrough? Don't use ANYTHING. Mods, Tweaks, add ons, graphic stuff. shaders, NOTHING.

After that, there's a few, I would recommend Cinders/Convergence. Both are good in their own way, though I lean a bit towards convergence myself.

Just like potato said, ANYTHING you try to do will get you banned.

No, unless you plan to play online, then download blue sentinels so you can be aware of any potential cheaters.
