Yea, i can't wait to play this and unlock all the lore. And this time, the main character dun have to sacrifice himself to link the first flame
Maybe its the advanced technology use to create DKS 3 as compared to DKS 1 & 2. But the buildings in DKS 3 feels so new and undamaged, making it seems to be the start of everything
You also have the lords of cinder, the giants and the crown from ds2 and the abyss watchers that clearly ressemble artorias.
It seems to follow Aldia's ending where you seek to undo the curse but im not sure, I havent watched the latest videos.
It takes place multiple kingdoms after Dark Souls 2. Though spoilers lay in the reason why.
The item descriptions for Solaire's armor and the full red eye orb both say they are items from an older time
Because Miyazaki is trying very hard to scrub away the memory of DS2. As he should.
He doesn't hate DS 2 and on that note, he's giving the same treatment to DS1.
When someone asked him at a q&a if soul memory would be a thing in ds3 he didnt respond he just looked away and smiled.
Nobody liked Soul Memory, yes, but if i recall there's quite a few things he took from DS 2 and put them in DS 3.
This is also just a theory though, but it does give a bit more meaning to the word "awakening".
I didn't find much link between 2 and the other games though.
