It rewards you gittin gud and knowing things with power and freedom, like beating the dancer at lvl 20 with a dark hand or going to ariandel at lvl 1 and getting a titanite slab just by running, or kicking the master naked guy so he doesn't kick ur ass...
Some games that doesn't matter and you have to put up with a lot of bs even if u are a pro gamer :(
So in dark souls 3 the more you know about it, the funnier it gets :9
also my pc is a potato
I don't judge bosses on difficulty alone, I judge them on quality and for the most part Elden ring falls flat on it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ face with this. Is morgot a harder first boss than Gundyr? Sure. Does Gundyr act like a crack addict who has long ago abandoned petty notions such as having stamina or not randomly pulling out a 5 move for his combo only when you're about to try and punish straight from his ass? No. Is every boss in dark souls 3 absolutely stellar? Most assuredly not. Are 80% of them a normal enemy or rehash of a boss you already fought? Also no. Again, my point is that as far as boss quality goes I still think dark souls 3 takes the cake and for me this a large part of what dark souls is about.
"Often you are swarmed with trash units, Maybe 1 good unit." Are you sure about this? Are you ready to die on this hill if need be if you want to compare DS3 to Elden ring? Are you, as the youth say, dead ass right now?
"It's just one annoying area after another." Yeah farrons keep is most assuredly a dogwater area and I'm happy that fromsoft improved on this is Elde-oh wait...
To summarize and cap off with "what ds3 has that's so special" it's arguably still got the best bosses in the series, is the grand finale of the original dark souls story rather than it's own thing (some people will say the fan service was taken to far but the point remains that it still has the tie in that elden ring does not), and is not open world bloated with typical open world game design (fight erdtree avater X times, find chest under same ruin X times, fight same exact dragon X times, get rocks from mine X times, find spirit animals to unlock magic door X times, light towers to fight spirit deer boss X times, clear dungeon with big rolly machine level hazard x times, fight tree sentinel x times, clear out evergoal x times, etc.)
Dark Souls 2 was too experimental and that backfired on it, while DS1 is generally considered FromSoft's greatest project. And DS3 pretty much just took what DS1 did, polished it some extra, sped it up a little for more action and there ya go.
I think the only thing that's been objectively lost is a more interconnected world with all the shortcuts and what not, but its not that big of a deal.
ER... Still forming my thoughts on it.
