Can’t Do Anything (Steam Deck)

I just downloaded the most recent update for the steam deck, and now Dark Souls 3 is unplayable. I can’t select anything in the menus. Game has been working fine for weeks but now it’s inoperable. When I try to make a new character, I can’t select my class, set a name, or basically do anything but move up and down on the menu and move the character model around.

I’ve restarted the deck, reinstalled the game, verified files, checked the controller settings to ensure it’s working right. By all accounts I should not be having this issue

i have the same issue, thought it was bc i moved ds3 to a different storage since it deleted my characters. But after numerous attempts in the game folder im stuck.

Same problem. Trying to start new game, cannot enter character name to proceed. Can open change all other options but when trying to enter name A and B button on deck stop working. Opening the Steam menu resets but still not able to enter character name to start to play

it appears to be a OS update problem

In that case, it seems that all we can do is wait till they fix it

If you follow these instructions, you can roll back your OS version

It didn’t fix my problem since I restart my deck pretty frequently and didn’t have a version far back enough, but it might help some of you

Have you tried reinstalling it in another steam drive? There is a bug that i encountered when i reinstalled recently, the game would boot fine and load in but my character would be stuck in place, i could still open menus and stuff. So i reinstalled the game in a different steam drive, not the main one and it just worked.

I’m experiencing nearly the opposite issues. Characters move around and stuff fine, but I can’t get rid of my multiplayer password or make new characters because I can’t interact with any text boxes

they just fixed it in the new os update
