where do I get weapons?

I just beated that first location after tutorial. I have now 20lvl and im still fighting with my long sword (+2). Is this how you play this game or there's some merchant or im blind.

some enemys drop weapons, theres some in the form of items you can pick up, and the handmaiden in the shrine sells some, the farther in the game you get the more there are available

yea I dropped like 5 weapons but they all worse than my main weapon

well when your longswords +2 and your using un-upgraded weapons there gonna be a bit worse, and keep in mind different weapons have different scaling,

oh also how do I craft? just killed Vordt and I guess I can make some weapon from his soul?

once you kill the big tree with big balls boss, give a thing the tree dropped to the guy with no legs and no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thats sitting in a chair in firelink shrine, give the soul to him after that and you can make vordnts hammer, or a ring

There are weapons all over the place. Some drop from enemies, some just lay about on the ground. For example in the depths of Lothric Wall you can find yourself a Broadsword - a slight sidegrade to your Longsword that trades heavy thrusting attack for a slashing one instead and scales with Strength much better.

Outside of Firelink Shrine there is a hostile samurai who drops his Uchikatana on death.

The Lothric Knights (big knights with red capes) drop everything they wear including the armor set, the shields, the sword and the spear.
The Lothric Knight Sword in particular is almost a direct upgrade to your Longsword as it got an extra reach for that extra crowd control and spacing.

If you can bother to shoot like 100 arrows into the dragon sitting on a tower - you can loot a Claymore that lays there, which is like... The best greatsword in the game. Mean little thing.

Also if you free Greirat from his jail - he will become an additional merchant in Firelink Shrine and he sells some unique weapons as well (like Estoc, for example).

Otherwise yes - Straight Swords are the most basic, and yet one of the best weapon types in the game due to how disgustingly versatile they are.
Other weapons require slightly more specific approach to combat, while light weapons like straight and curved swords just go "ha-ha, wide swing goes brrrrrt".

Claymore is awesome and can get you to end game + DLCs with no issues. And you find it early in the game, has low stats requirements too. If you like bonk style weapons you will find 2 in the swamp after you defeat their users. And so on.

You can also get some weapons off "Greyrat the theif" if you end up saving him at the start of the game. You can buy weapons from him after you get a key from the Starting location (not the tutorial) its guarded by a dog and a bunch of other enemies.

Anyway when you save him you can buy some discount firebombs and all kinds of goods, like new armor and weapons from "Greyrat the thief"
