I just bought whole trilogy + dlc, having a blast so far, just completed DSR and taking a break before starting DS2😅. I'm happy with this discount since I was waiting for it after completing Elden Ring. Worth every penny since buying everything is still cheaper than starfield base game smh.

Yeah i'm glad you like it, but tbh this is just the worst time to be a dark souls player because you have to pay more while the others who played previously before elden ring hype bought the game way much cheaper with the exact same experience

I don't mind that at all, it's one of the last AAA studio that releases complete, quality games instead of cut content (as dlc's), in-game shop with skins, premium currency, battle pass deluxe premium mega complete editions on release, getting really sick with "demos" untill you buy everything in the shop that actually makes "demo" a full game (Diablo IV is all of the above with 70€ pricetag 🤮). The first time i booted ER it took me back to where a games were complete on release, it was so mind-blowing and enjoyable it actually made me regret i bought it at the discount. Really looking forward for the dlc and souls-like upcoming games from them.

I bought DS2 sotfs for a good price in a sale 2021, now DS2 is almost 5x more expensive in this sale. (In my country).

It is just baffling that some companies think they can get $40+ for a 10+ year old game. Its pretty F'n nuts to say the least.

I agree, Fromsoft prices are way to high. Sekiro is still full price most of the time, yeah it comes on sale occasionally for 50% off, should be that price all of the time by now.. So recently I bought the PS4 Dark Souls trilogy which as the name would suggest is DS1, 2 and 3 with ALL DLC for $69.95 (Australian dollars). That seemed like a reasonable deal to me. Yeah you need a PS4 or 5 though. Add all that up on Steam and you will be paying probably twice as much.

If this was done by EA and Ubisoft people would be in an uproar, but FromSoftware can do no wrong apparently. Their games are great, but they're one of the greediest gaming companies out there. I have never seen a game's price go up considerably nearly a decade post launch before Dark Souls 3 (price went up from $66 to $80 in Canada recently, but it's far worse in other countries with undervalued currencies).

The least they can do is finally release a proper pc port of Bloodborne already, but I doubt that they will...

Dark Souls as a franchise, generally, has a pretty stable player count from month to month. It has its ups and downs, but it still stays mostly the same. Aside from the initial two months, where a whole bunch of people "buy it to try it out" and then just put it down, you'll be able to consistently find activity.

I played DSR recently and people are still invading regularly in all the hot spots - and there's always people on that discussion board arguing about clunky mechanics lol.

So yeah, that could be one reason. It might also be up to the original dev studio. TBH not totally sure on how steam decides what goes on sale or not.

Could be the devs and producers just don't want to lower the price any.

DS3 is really fun though. I still highly recommend.
