Using this in a build and want to know your guys' opinion on if it is a straight sword type or like a curved sword.

Well it's best paired with a shield with the skill called "weapon skill" that way you can use the crescent moon blade without having to 2 hand it. Also you want to reach at least 40-60 int if you plan to use split damage magic weapons like the Crescent moon sword, Moonlight Greatsword, and of course Friede's Scythe.

If you plan to not really use sorceries then you'll want 40 intelligence max. Magic weapons don't gain much damage after 40 int, only sorceries really gain a benefit from it. Since the weapon gains a C in dexterity you could up that as well. For example with the Crescent Moon Sword, going from 20 int to 40 gives you 28 AR, not much but it's at least 1 AR per level. Going from 40 to 60 gives you a whopping 6 AR extra. Not really worth it.

Curved sword are generally better 2-handed, but the 1-handed moveset isn't bad and seems to have more range. Either way you'll want to be able to use the weaponart, since that's its unique trait.

Edit: Same works with a faith build. If you don't plan to use miracles stay at 40 faith. If you want to focus on miracles try to hit 50 if not 60.

Also if you do plan to raise dex for extra damage, 30 would be a good stopping point. 25 or even 20 is fine too if you need to level something else instead.

I mean it obviously is a curved sword. But I get what you're asking and you don't want to skip the twohanded moveset. It's too good to pass. Even if the onehanded one isn't terrible.

Curved Swords are -really- fast when two-handed, but the reach can be lacking. But I'd still recommend it to be two-handed.
