Keyboard issue

Whenever I hold down a direction key for like 5 or more second the character keeps running in that direction, regardless of what I press. Then when I tap the direction the character is going is all fine again. Why does this happen? Never had this problem in Dark souls 2!

Edit: This also happened in the menu too, While creating my character, holding down the arrow keys for too long it gets stuck doing it for like 10 seconds or something.

Sounds like Windows' Sticky Keys is being activated.
Try deactivating the shortcut for it in the Control Panel.

I have it already disabled, it has been for a very very very long time. Like I said never had this issue in dark souls 2, all the sudden dark souls 3 this happens.

I have also found, sometimes the key press delays for 1 second after I pressed, like I press go forward, character just stands there, after I wait a while they move. -.-

Also any key will get stuck if I press them, even shift, Q or E or F....... they all will get stuck pressed......

I have this issue, and its not fixed yet, its not sticky key for me, since it gets stuck with any key I press. Start menu I can't even go through the menu because the key keeps force pressing down.

I have a similar problem with WASD sticking sometimes. Suddenly i'll catch my character trying to run themselves off a cliff. I can't reproduce it, though... it has happened after only tapping the key or after holding it, seems random.

me too, I can't play like this I press a key the character keeps running in that direction. until I press it again. Sometimes even shift will get stuck too, making me do heavy attack everytime. Then get stuck again running off a hill, because my character felt like it..................

Good to know others are having the same issue. It's infuriating to get killed in action just because a key gets stuck. If anyone has a solution please do share.

I've had this issue. I don't know how to keep it from happening. If you press the direction that you are moving, it stops until it glitches again.

I think its cause by using overlay, I usualy just press the key that the direction is mappe too for a few secounds and it fixed. only happens after I type and do things in overlay and return to the game.

Lucky you!! :) however for me its very lethal happens like on 50% of the key presses! Really wish I could play this properly. like serious this is dark souls 3, atleast in dark souls 2 the keyboard and mouse option worked properly.

Have you tried playing w/o overlay? Does it fix it?

Nope I had the overlay disabled
