Carthus Milkring + Carthus Bloodring?
First off, I'd just like to say that the Carthus Milkring is freaking awesome.

Now what I'm wondering is- is the cost to defense for the Bloodring worth the increased invincibility while rolling?

Pretty much no. If you can dodge every single attack in the game with the extra iframes.. sure go for it. But I was taking about 2-3x more damage per hit, which meant getting caught in a single combo was either death or almost death.

You need some serious stamina with this ring because once you've finished dodging it's either attack or beating to a pulp ahead due to the damage intake

If you are doing a normal run, no. It is much better to learn how to dodge with the initial I-frames. There are some combos that are difficult to dodge with normal I-frames, though not impossible, there is a chance you may get hit.

If you are doing SL1 runs, it is useful for some bosses but only the ones that will one shot you even with the L Sheild ring.

I just starting using them both together last night, and to be honest I haven't noticed a big difference in iframes. I have noticed taking a little more damage though... Personally I think the milkring's obscurring is enough but I haven't played with them both long enough to really know probably.
A true swordman of Carthus wears both rings no matter the cost! That said, the defence reduction puts you at risk: «defense reduction is calculated by increasing your current absorbtion by 15%, and then subtracting 15».

.....that can't be right, because the ring would add absorbtion once you got it over 100

I don't think it's possible to get 100 absorbtion. Then you would literally take no damage from any attacks.

also the enemies with more damaging attacks its better for, the dancer still takes 3 hits to kill you so why not? and the same for giant wepon users... if they pancake you, you're dead either way/.

If absorption is percentage. The way his comment was written made it sound like it worked some other way.

i belive absoption is hardcapped at 30% and the ring reduces all defences by 1/3 or so. as if you are missing an armor peice.

.................? If it's hardcapped so low wouldnt that kinda remove the point of armour? Granted everybody seems to think the point was removed with poise anyway, and armour never did much, but I have to imagine there's armours that would get you over 30% without a cap on it.
