Is this actually confirmed? i assume you're saying that if my best weapon is a +2, then my friend cannot drop me a +5 weapon. But he could still drop me an ember? And what if i upgraded a simple weapon to +5. could he then drop me a titanite scale upgraded +5 boss weapon because +5 = +5?
The upgrade level restriction is based off of the highest attained by the receiving player. If the player only has a +2 Titanite Shard Reinforced Weapon, they can receive another +2 Shard reinforced weapon, but only a +1 Twinkling or Scale weapon.
Each level of Twinkling or Scale counts as 2 levels of a Shard reinforced.
