I found the Symbol of Avarice on my very first mimic. I'm not sure if it's a guaranteed drop when you kill him or if I just got lucky, but

The mimic I got it from is past the dragon perched on the tower at the high wall of lothric early in the game. Pelt arrows at him until he flies away so you can go in. Mimic also dropped a really nice battleaxe infused with Dark

Well if your going for a pvp min max build then probably not...but i normally make my very first charecter in a new souls game casuel and spread out just so i can find what i like the most to then makea dedicated pvp my second time through. That Said Mizaki did say he kept the ability to re spec like you could in ds 2. I am not sure what that entails but if there is no special gimmick then you should be able to invest a ton in luck to farm then re spec later when your ready to pvp. Also luck boosts i think it was bleed and somthing else so it may still actually help if your building around that.

You can also use rusted coins (which can be chosen as one of the starting gifts).

I believe the effect is cumulative (so you can use multiple coins to further increase item find).

I mostly just did it to see if I could get a tail cut drop, his tail wiggled weirdly when I shot at it but it never severed.

Nah not yet, but I had a quick once over of the wiki to make sure it was actually in the game still (stranger things have happened) but I was basing that 11% off of the Silver Serpent Ring. Sorry about that. Gold Sepent Ring increases item discovery +50...so luck+50? I'm not sure how that works.

Using Gold serpent ring+2, mimic head, crystal sage rapier and rusted coin + 40stat in luck.
But well... i am SL 270
