Character doesn't cast shadows, everything else does.
It was fine for around 6 hours, and then when I was returning to the area I've been exploring from firelink shrine, my character stopped casting shadows. Everything else does, foliage, enemies etc.

Tried every setting in the options even those not related to shadows, tried restarting with various settings, validated cache.

Is reinstalling the only fix? I don't think I can stand waiting a couple of days to redownload the whole game.

Did you die? Maybe your character is a g-g-g-g-ghost?

I noticed that there are a bunch of shadows from buildings/static objects that are really blurry, or broken aswell. Stuff like the little bits of light that used to come into some dark rooms through windows are completely gone, or shadows from pillars/other geography are incredibly blurry, moreso than the shadows cast by enemies/foliage on the lowest shadow setting.

Same here. I think maybe it's related to "hollowing stat". Also checked with newly created character - shadow slider do nothing, onlt overal graphic settings change shadow quality for me (980 ti)

I created a new character, and shadows are fine on that character, they still aren't there on the other. If it is part of the hollowing stat thats weird, it just looks unnatural.

I think you might be right, I'm all hollowed on my new character and bam no shadows, as if I'm a phantom.

Cured holowing on my main character and guess what? She now cast shadow again. Dont know if this bug caused by dark sigil in player's inventory or by certain hollowing level.

I think it would be the hollowing level, I haven't heard of any dark sigil, unless I have it and I don't know about it.

Dark sigil causing hollowing. You can find it in your "key items" You gain this item after you draw out your true power and gain "free" level from pilgrim NPC in Firelink shrine

Ahh okay, Next time I make a character I'll check and see if its as soon as you get that item, however I don't remember noticing the lack of shadow the first or second time I did that.
