Anyone notice the lordvessels? (super minor spoilers)

There seem to be lordvessels everywhere. From the get go, when we find the blue sunny-D, the corpse is lying on a lordvessel statue. The bonfire in Firelink shrine, in a lordvessel. The first place we teleport, lordvessel with a twisted sword next to it. Why are they everywhere?

Also general minor spoiler lore thread I guess. Little details and such.

Maybe to mess with us ;) I remember the point of the whole Fallout 1 was to find the waterchip and you cannot find it anywhere. In Fallout 2 you find a vault where every locker and every container is full of water chips.
