Same reason there's still no keyboard prompts, they don't care about PC

On the plus side, the full screen mode does not capture the mouse while menus are open, so it's the most multi-monitor-friendly fullscreen game I've played, at least. Still takes a while to alt-tab if you need to see something on the same monitor the game is on, though, which is the other usual drawback of fullscreen.

(I'm actually pleased with the situation, even if I think it should have a borderless option as well, but I'm in an unusual situation of 2x 4k monitors for work stuff but a GPU that is only really up to 1080p. Only a few games that do borderless windowed mode also let you stretch 1080p framebuffer to a 4k window, so this is actually better for me. Usually it's a choice of windowed mode that insists on running at 4k and 15fps or a fullscreen mode that makes me wait 5 seconds every time I want to click on the other monitor to reply to someone.)

There are tools that will turn its windowed mode into a borderless windowed mode, even if it does suck that it isn't built in.

Just use a program like Borderless gaming and run ds3 in windowed mode.

It's incredibly useful for casters/archers if you can manage to get used to it, free aiming spells/aiming arrows is 10x easier and you're able to actively aim spells at moving targets and adjust mid animation which is ridiculous to do with joysticks. What I do a lot is hold my controller in my left hand and the mouse in my right and have the extra keys bound to side mouse buttons for the best of both worlds.
