How do you kick with mouse and keyboard ?

I tried pressing both leaving it pressed tapping, leaving one pressed and not the other.

I am using sword and shield. weird ...

Do I need to be in front of an enemy for it to work ?

w+lmb, but you have to hold that. At least works with a knife

u need to be very fast, first press w than lmb, try it a few times till u get it right, u need to be rather accurate there

Try with different timings, you'll know when you get it and be able to do it pretty much whenever when you do it a couple times.

The input needs to be instantaneous (you have to press W + LMB at the exact same time).

You can't be holding W or press one and then the other; you have to do it together.

It's a bit tricky, but I've been able to do it fairly reliably (I've had little success with jump attack, though; W+Shift+LMB is a bridge too far, it seems).

Ok maybe in fact I was doing it, my character doing a backward rolling flip and does something with the sword when I do W + LMB (forward + LMB). I thought it would be a kicking animation.

When I do Shift + W + LMB he does some kind of jumping attack.

Thats the kick for a curved sword, the backward flip is correct. Try equipping a straight sword and trying it.

Kick = in the same time W + left klick

It's possible your weapon overrides the normal move. If you unequip that weapon and perform W + LMB, it should do a kick (this will break guard, and you can then riposte as in DS2).

omg it was this simple. With dual scimitar, it overrides the move.

With the two paired weapons, how do you beat a shield user if you can't kick ?

Asking myself same question. Had problems with some shielded enemies thanks to that, since still can't figure out solution.
