Vordt of the Boreal Valley (Need some help)

Been stuck on Vordt of the Boreal Valley boss for 4 hours now.. any tips?

Stay close to him, dodge his attacks, and counter. Watch for his dashes in the second phase and hit him when he's charging the ice breath to interrupt him.

Go to the door right before the fight, pop an ember and then summon some help. Dude can't handle more than one target as long as you stay one in front and one behind him.

I only just found him - apparently I've been exploring around in places I didn't have to yet. I almost finished him, but he got one lucky shot. My REAL question, though... Is there a second bonfire in this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ area between the first one and this boss? Is there a second one ANYwhere else in this zone?
Oh and to help with your question a bit, it's all about rolling. Simple enough fight for most DS fans, but he does hit hard. When he's amped up and starts charging you, try rolling diagonally towards/ away to his side.

get white soapstone and get some help if needed. basic rule is to learn to stay alive first you will need to roll and roll and roll, then take your opportunities to attack.

Do you have the "Tower on the Wall" bonfire?

There is a second bonfire on top of the tower beyond the first Lothric Knight, but the better option at this point is a shortcut found by going right (instead of left) from the area with the big guy with the halberd. Watch for the ambush, take the elevator up, and open the door to create a quick and easy path from the first bonfire to the boss.

The first bonfire is actually the best for this boss run. You should have unlocked an elevator which takes you down to that area. If you are facing the boss door; there are stairs to the right hand side with a few weak soldiers patroling, go up those stairs and follow the path. You will get ambushed by a bunch of weaklings and then you will find an elevator. Go up the elevator and open a door which creates a shortcut to the first bonfire.

havent got to that boss yet but i am about to. But their is a shortcut to the boss. when you enter the area their are two routes the one you do before you find the short cut and the one after. Just explore the area above the fat guy and you should find it.

I noticed that if you stand right beneath him that he really can't touch you. Only time I got hit is when he enraged and charged across the arena multiple times. Beat him on the first try and didn't even need to drink. I was using the deep battleaxe though, kinda cheap but w/e.

Not cheap at all; the bosses weakness is dark.

Stay near his feet he can't touch you, don't lock on to him and just stay near his feet. You will kill him without even needing to drink from your estus flask.

I can see that, the first bosses don't have much hp if you use 2h it makes quick work of them
