A tip for Nvidia GPU owners
Anti Aliasing in Dark Souls III is Horrible, it doesn't smooth the image at all, so i've turned off, and then i've activated the FXAA from Nvidia Control Panel.

Result: pretty much constant 60 fps (before this it was at 47-54 fps) and smoother image, no aliased edges anymore.

I always turn antialiasing off in every game I play. Still getting fps issues.

I would suggest using Geforce Experience to optimize the settings and see if you like the results.

And your in-game resolution? that can make a huge fps drop.

BTW, what is your GPU?

980 with everything on ultra here. 60fps no problem, with headroom to spare.

no change of settings makes any difference to the framerate.

Actually a lot of people seem to be having issues, even with "enthusiast" cards. It seems that amd cpu's are having less trouble. I'm on an 8350, and it's working great, although I am aware that not everyone is having the same experience.

i have everything maxed and used, im using 2 980 SLI, seems to work well, tho game is capped at 60 fps, i74790k and the latest nvidia drivers, no screen tearing with a 144mhz either. Would like to know if anyone with this setup is having issues.

That's not true. If it doesnt .. it's the stupid FPS bug that needs to be fixed.

I absolutely DO NOT trust Geforce experience. It had never failed me before, but with Dark Souls it has really pooped the bed. My current settings run it between 55-60 FPS.. not sure why it is saying I need to pretty much gimp the hell out of the game to play it.

Its partial true, the only settings that really gonna change some fps are SSAO, shadows , depth of field and blur, try to disable/lower these settings and you will gain some fps, but still need find a fix for some little stutters.
