Attacked NPC (Deserter) at firelink shrine by accident

Now he won't stop chasing me and killing me... and I don't really want to kill him in case he is useful later (+ he's kinda hard) .... I don't really want to restart the first boss.

Also him being angry seems to prevent me from using the sword to light the fire?

Any hints or do I have to start over??

You likely have to start over, but that's really not all that hard, it does not take very long...unless that first boss was really annoying to you.

How do you people keep attacking non hostile NPCs? This is like the 5th thread I've seen in an hour.

I would say, every now and again you accidentally kind of hit them in the crossfire...but in that area, I am not sure how he did it. However, when I was playing Bloodborne, if I set my controller down in just barely the wrong way, the triggers are hyper sensitive and I would sometimes smash a friendly NPC with a R2 attack -_- ....

Restart and do the first boss again. It takes probably a lot less time than many many other retries you have to do later in game ;)

I just have to hit people to see what happens. Somehow I expected a respawn close to the fire and a friendly NPC, but he keeps attacking me.

You could request an absolution at the velka statue in the sewer in undead settlement, but if you just started doing a new character is easier.

i killed him just leave the area through the door and he can't get through just keep hitting his health down wait for him to run out of estus and done

Same ♥♥♥♥ happened to me... he was @ his other location outside the shrine between some enemys which also had a black coat so i attacked him.... so i have to start all over again.... :c
