When I Lock On to a target, the screen fills with weapon images and Japanese characters.

I tried taking a screenshot, but it came out as just a black screen for some reason. Has anyone else encountered this? I just started, and the actual game was running smoothly, but the very first shrouded skeleton thing I locked onto brought up an image overlayed onto the screen of weapons and red Japapnese characters. Unlocking or killling the skeleton made it go away. It happened on the next enemy as well. The game was still running, just a weird image.

Edit: Nevermind. I started a new game to try an replicate it for a screenshot, and it was fixed. It must have been a glitch from starting it the first time. It almost looked like a developer mode, or debug mode. Weird. If it happens again, I'll try to get a screenshot.

I just had it happen to me. Was looking around in google to see if it has happened to anyone else. Guess I'm making a new character to make it go away. This happened to me a while ago. I also noticed there were other things that brought even more icons up, like hitting something, or looting something. I took a screenshot of the most icons I could get

Posted it a while back, got a pretty decent conversation with people noticing a bunch of unused icons there. There's a Dragonscale, hinting at a Dragon Covenant that must have been cut, a Monastery Charm and a Holy Water Urn from DS2, what appears to be a Poison Kukri, and some strange new Firebombs, a set of three firebomb "bottles" of both regular and Black variety.

The same thing just happened to me. When I took a screen shot it just turned out black.

my one has dummy written on it and i didnt pirate/mod the game however i did purchase it from g to a because i had purchased it on xbox before and i am not payin 90 dollars for it

Best way to fix it is just restart the game from the desktop.
Rare bug that happens from time to time.

happened to me just now from starting the game

Replying to a late post ik, but putting my graphics and resolution settings back to the default fixed it for me, incase anyones needs help with this??

It started doing this when I got invaded as I was going into the Crystal Sage boss fight. After I died, lol, I reloaded, and now everytime I hit an enemy the screen fills with icons and the word "dummy".
