is herald a good class to progress with?

i picked this class for my playthrough its not bad but was wondering is it good later on wepeon wise? ive never played this before, i picked this one coz i like the 2 hand spear thing in bloodborne too

It doesn't really matter. Any class can use any weapon as long as you meet the stat requirement. It only really affects the early game. The game throws weapons at you.

I almost went Herald myself and went Mercenary instead. I feel exactly the same way about it as you do about Herald.... lol I'd like to know some answers to your question, too.

I`m playing as herald and yes, this is good class for start. Very good armor set, 100% Phys shield and long spear. Very good character for str/faith builds.

yh i keep getting rekt in lothric wall by random mobs lol i hate them alien zombie undead things that pop out of nowhere.

I was playing herald and knight, for most of the time herald just gets shaved. Imho the spear range isn't THAT great, the damage is pretty meeh and you need that miracles, cause you seem to take considerably more damage.

I re-rolled as a Herald, it feels much more at home to my Faith build I had in Scholar with +10 Lightning-Infused Heide Spear and Alva Armor/Target Shield. Just got Arstor's Spear after using the Spear (Raw) for the beginning bits and I'm loving it all so far.

Playing as Herald on my first and only character. A good Item find rate which helps upgrading items. Spear was switched with the Katana but still a good starting class to upgrade items AND deal damage.

Herald gets a 100% physical damage resist shield right off the bat. I started Herald then started building Str for the rest of the playthrough.
