Longer than DS I but shorter than DS II.

nobody knows yet

probably 30-50 first playthrough as a very rough guess assuming you explore and take a fair few tries on each boss

Dark Souls 3 is shorter than both DS2 and 1 if you're the type of person to rush through areas and to the boss as quickly as possible. If you explore every nook and cranny of what is probably their most compacted areas to date, then you'll find it's pretty close to DSII time to find everything you can in one NG.

Yeah we do. Games been out for 3 weeks for those of us with consoles and the money to pay for it early.

It's about as long as bloodborne; my first playthrough took 50 hours, but my second and third took more like 20.

It's not as massive as ds2 but it plays great and has a lot of replayability. I'll take shorter, better game over ds2's massive, quantity over quality any day.

Not to mention it still has 2 dlcs coming out to make it bigger.

My first whole playthrough took me around 23 hours.
I searched every area, collected everything and beat every boss.

Probably longer than 1. That game really wasn't that long.

Somone did a speed run in 90 mins

Keep in mind DLC is still coming, so that is subject to change.

Take DS 1, DS 2, and Bloodborne, and roll them into a ball. Then throw them into a blender with Demon Souls, praise the sun for roughly 3 mins, and thats about 4 times longer of a game than DS3.

It was the shortest so far for me (played on PS4), I saw a lot of people say their first run took around 22>25 hours, but i'm a slow-coach with games and I try and do everything possible on my first run and so I took nearly 50!.

But it did feel shorter than the rest. That feeling I had in Dark Souls when I saw Anor Londo and it dawned on me that I still had a considerable chunk of the game left to play - well I never got that feeling with DS3. When I realised that i'd already reached the final stage of the game I was a little bit disappointed. But at least I still had the final optional stage (and one tough boss!) left to do, so that added a few more hours.

If i'd skipped the optional parts it would definitely have felt too short, so make sure you find them!. The final optional area is the best (and has the most impressive boss imo) but it's VERY easy to miss if you don't know what to do, so you might want to wiki it.

didn't the developers say it was shorter but more full than DSII?

Yep, it's shorter than 2 but longer than 1. However saying as 1 and 2 only take me about 10-15 hours typically I'm not expecting a very long first playthrough, but I will play the game multiple times so it's not a big issue.
