STR or DEX

Well the title says it all. Even though I know quite a lot about DS3 I'm still not sure if I should make str or dex build for my main character. I mean Fume UGS sounds really tempting but DS3 has a lot of enemies and they can attack you rapidly dealing significant amount of damage which in late game will turn into 2-3 hit combo to death. That's why fast dex weapon could be a good possibility. So any ideas or advices?

Why not try both? What will be better is just preference and skill tbhfam. I know it might take longer to beat the game but you could potentially progress through it with 2 characters at an even pace.

Do you like Greatsword and Butcher's Knives and Melee things (e.g.whatever is equivalent to Caestus) = Strength
Do you like Katanas and Straight Swords = Dex
Do you like Weird and wonderful or all things plentiful = quality
Do you want to mix and match = Strength & Dex.

Played DS one with STR, DS2 as a mage, DS3 will try dual wielding dex char.
Go with a build your never tried before, don't think about what build will be the easiest.

I always go with a strength build but its your preference, you should probably put spoiler tags btw.

Not really. There's at least one quality katana, and I think I heard of one that uses strength. There are also greatswords and whatnot that use dex. You'd still need more strength or dex to be able to use them, so the build may as well be a quality build at that point, unless you can get more damage with the strength or dex infusions.

Most of the interesting weapons can be found very late in the game so you never know.. Also respec is awailable only for invading covenant and only 5 times per playthrough.

Is there str/dex only weapons without requirement of another stat? I heard Yorm's great machete is one of the few pure str weapons.

you can find about 3 iteam to respec in the main game ..

Which items are you even talking about? From what i know only Rosalia leader of invading covenant can reallocate your points.

Pale Tongue are reaward of successful invastion and you can trade up to 5 for re-spec per NG cycle and 3 are available as pickup iteam + 1 enemy have rare chance to drop it ;)

I heard FUGS will get nerfed.
