Bloodborne? Not sure if anyone come across anything related so far. Mostly due to "Sony" label on it.
It focuses A LOT on DS1 lore. In fact it completes the story.
However, Dark Soul2....Think of Silent Hill 2 pitted against Silent Hill 1 and 3 storywise. You can only see particular characters and read stuff from that lore but they dont effect story a lot.
There is no story in dark souls
If you dont have the time, you can always speed-run Dark Souls 1 lore over youtube. Some people upload it like a movie without boring gameplay scenes.
You dont have to finish DS1 to enjoy DS3 story, however you will definitely miss the joy of meeting old characters from Dark Souls1.
which gets awkward because ds1 takes place were time is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ kinda like that dr who episode were all time collapsed onto on point (which is the reason you can summon people) yet at the same time in ds1 with the dlc you can time travel to ages past and at the same time in ds2 the game itself is the past (opening cinematic you enter the same type of magic used in ds1 to go back in time)
so ds1's world is gobbuldy goop with 0 genuine continuity due to wish woshy timey wimeyness
and ds2's world takes place in an awkward tim were memories are real and what you percieve is just a shadow of its reality (see giants but hole faces yes same giants as ds1 pointed out by the giant kings aparel being that of Gwyns)
best gues ds2 is an illusion in and of itself a living painting an interpretation of the past rather than the past
but anyway ds2 takes place after ds1 ds3 takes place after ds2 (see fume sword) so
logicaly looking at ds 1 and ds2 story their same world but diff lands, similar butt diff, ds3 takes place AFTER ds2 but in the country of ds1
