Dark hand damage

how strong is the dark hand in this game? I'm trying to determine whether I should use Demon's fists or the dark hand, but I don't have much information on the dark hand.

Well if you are going for a Fist build Purely, The dark hand is the only Shield fist in the game.

actually I'm going pyromancy / strength, but I noticed that dark hand had higher int / faith scaling than demon's fist, along with the lifesteal ability, and strike attacks in the right hand, so I was wondering if it was a viable option for my build.
If anyone knows of a better fast weapon for a 26str/10dex/30int/30faith build to use interchangably with my lorian's greatsword, though, that'd be really appreciated.

don't bother. Just tested the dmg with the dark hand on the rats in the undead settlement. with 20/20 int/faith and flynn's ring I had just under 300AR, but only managed to deal 50 dmg to the rats. In comparison, my raw astora's straight sword (with just under 200AR) did around 160 dmg.

the dark hand was always kinda crap even in DS1. landing it's special move is very difficult, almost impossible against anyone that can move.

it's garbage in PvP, mediocre in PvE... don't bother.

and yes, the damage is awful. that number might trick you into thinking it's actually good, but it isn't.
