Best Pyromancer weapon

What do you guys think is the best weapon / stat to use with pyromancy? Assuming I'm using something like a 30/30 int/faith build, what do you think would go best with pyromancy for PvP? Is there a good inherent fire weapon that I should build towards, or maybe a weapon that can be infused with chaos for good scaling, or should I use a raw weapon and buff it with carthus flame arc, etc.?

Do fire weapons scale the same way as it did in 2? The wiki says the fire infusion gives fire damage, but nothing about scaling.

there's a regular fire infusion that gives flat fire damage, and a chaos infusion that scales with int / faith for fire damage

Ah, neat. No idea why static infusions are back. Won't that just lead to twinks again? Not sure how strict the new weapon level matchmaking is.

How is scaling overall? Based on the few weapons with their info on the wiki, it seems like everything has very low scaling, at least uninfused. Watched a stream where somebody with a dex build tried to infuse with sharp, though, and their damage went down.

It seems to be good if the scaling is a higher grade, but rather weak if it isn't. Hence my question about B/B or higher. On a +10 pyromancy flame with C/C scaling the fire damage is 180 + 192. On a +10 chaos axe with B/B scaling the fire damage is 143 + 188. But that's with the Witch's Ring, Great Swamp Ring, and fire clutch ring increasing pyromancy damage.

At Chaos +10, the scaling is C/C/A/A.

Plus, I'm rolling with a Dex-Pyro Flame Knight with 40 Dex 30 Int 30 Faith. The C scaling in Dex and Strength would beef up the physical side of the damage quite a bit too, especially since people are complaining about the return of split damage.

Started drooling when I saw it. Can't wait till I get my hands on a Chaos Gem and the Gian'ts Coal.

Sorry, just came across this post as I've been doing some research on bettering my weapon in NG+. It seems, according to the posts on the DS3 boards, that the Astora Greatsword and the Dragon Slayer's Axe both scale exceedingly well with Dark. Also, you CAN buff both with Pyro flame as well. Don't have the numbers in front of me as I just clicked off that page but it's worth taking a look at. Think I'm either going full Battle Axe/Dragon Slayer's Axe (Pyros like axes, what can I say?) with a Dark buff going to +10 with a +10 Pyro flame as well. Seems with at least a 30/30 Faith/Int AND Dark that Pyros do very, very well with that build. For some reason, according to the Wiki I was looking at, Pyros do scale with Dark better than any other build except for Mage/Wizard maybe. Odd?

Estoc has very low stat requirements and also gets to B/B with a chaos infusion, gonna try that on my new pyro. A/A would be nice though, Anyone know of a weapon like that wield-able with only 12 STR and DEX?

I know the crow scythe is A/A when infused in chaos.

What is the best halberd for a pyromancer? I think the standard halberd has a boring moveset so I use a lucerne.

You could try the Dragonslayer Axe from creighton. scaling was C/C or B/B not sure anymore. However the lightning damage from the weapon also scales off faith if you infuse it with Chaos. Not sure if the split damage is good. i play pure pyro, so I never really tried a lot of weapons with chaos infusion
