(SPOILER)Only two bosses had that DS feeling.

Except of the two princes and the nameless king every other boss felt either too easy or completly broken bs.

-Iudex/Vordt/Greatwood, - Nothing to say all 3 are just tutorial bosses which is allright.

-Crystal Sage Is this even a boss?

-Abyss Watchers The moment you know you can parry/backstab him he is freeloot.

-Deacons of the Deep lol? xD

-High Lord Wolnir same as above.. or to be more precise--> rofl xD

-Old Demon King This was a boss? I am rather sure he has even less hp than the normal demons.

-Pontiff Sulyvahn r1/dodge until he dies

-Yhorm the Giant. I hit him for like 15minutes and brought him down to 30% before I let myself die. Tried him another time looted the weapon and died 3-4 times again until I figured out how it works. Was a first try afterwards.

-Aldritch The rain of arrows killed me one time afterwards he was dead.

-Dragonslayer Armor I died countless times to the tracking shield bash but I must say I was underlvld at the time I've done him at first. I left und did easier bosses first. Afterwards he was fine.

-Oceiros He just hit the left or right wall with relentless assault while I killed him hitting him in the back. Either the AI was broken for me or he is just like that. I didn't take a single point of damage in the whole fight nor had I to block/dodge.

-Champion Gundyr His attacks are way too fast and unpredictable(shoulder bash/kick while he skips the last animation). He took me like 6 hours and I must say he is just pure luck and nothing else. He can get such sick combos without any cooldown and does them at such a speed that even if you attack him with a 1hand only a single time after he is trough with them you can still get hit the next swing before your attack is through.

-Lothric/Lorian I can't say how much I liked this fight. He was hard hitting and rather quick but you could learn. Not like Gundyr where everything went just too fast. No he felt like a real boss. I died a lot on him but I never felt cheated like on Gundyr because the attacks where to quick to recognize/bad luck. No because of my own fault.

After many tries I finally killed him without using a single estus used and it felt really good. You can actually dodge everything he does but it's still hard but always fair.

-Nameless King The same as Lothric/Lorian just a bit easier but still enjoyable. You still can die very fast but you can easily dodge every attack except the flame breath in p1. After getting 1 shot by Gundyr for hours he even felt a bit too easy and way more forgiving.

In the end except of the the princes and the nameless king I didn't had that DS feeling a single time. Most bosses where freelot and Gundyr/Dragonslayer had some very cheap nigh unavoidable moves to increase their difficulty.

At the time DS1 was allright. Sure nowadays it's way easier with all the patches and ppl playing with the perfect build. But I am rather sure even now the ds1 bosses will feel way more rewarding after a kill than most ds3 bosses.

Hmm I've had a pretty different experience from you so its hard to say, My favorite boss is the nameless king which gave me a run for my money took me about 10 attempts to get it down very cool boss though. Old demon king I was not doing much damage to so that was a good fight.

Gundyr I got the first time lol so Idk why you were having issues but I can relate on other bosses they suffer from the Bloodborne syndrome of rng/ getting a good burn in dps before the transition really changes the fight.

I have to disagree a little bit with you because for me none of the DS1 bosses were as hard as the DS3 bosses (except if you wanted the Obsidian Greatsword). However I had my problems with Pontiff Sulyvahn to the point where I just noped out and summoned two Sunbros. Have not fought the later bosses though so thats gonna be fun.
Also the normal area enemies are alot harder than in DS1.
