Sprint button in uncomfortable spot
Having an intense session and i want to continue but my hand is killing me right now, i have to stretch my finger in an awkward position to sprint all the time using controller

Is there any way i can remap this to left trigger? i figured holding left trigger would be sprint and B as weapon special

This is how i find myself holding controller most of the time and its pretty uncomfortable after a while

You mean you're thumb to the B button?
RandalMcdaniel Apr 18, 2016 @ 11:19pm
no i dont use my thumb i use my pointer finger like a crab grip idk how to otherwise, sometimes i even do like a siamese triangle hold so i can turn the camera and sprint at same time.

Use thumb? Yeah sure maybe if im running down a straight hallway

are you some kind of demonspawn?

Well, you could use keyboard+mouse.

I have a friend who plays like this and I could never understand how. He said it was from playing so much Tekken and Street Fighter games. He said it was from spending so much time at an arcade and then switching to a controller...

Personally, I don't understand how you could hold a controller like that.

That's wild. I never heard of that before, except for like fighting games.
how about you hold the controller like a normal person.

The scariest part is I have seen people play games like this (mainly fighting games) and they are absolute monsters at the game. I would imagine transfering back to the normal method would be a severe handicap in an ironic way.

i am guessing you are trying to have absolute control of the camera with your right tumb on the right analogue stick? (unless you dont have a right tumb ;S )

In anycase ,whenever i need to control the camera where i want to look i just flick the right analogue stick with my right tumb and its realy quick and easy to do,try to pratice it,

(i think thats why i cant get used to the steam controller, no flicking ability with that damn trackpad)

I hold the controller the same way, otherwise you can't move the camera while running.

I'm sorry, I just burst out laughing. What the heck man lol.

Alright, I had to read that a few more times, fair enough I guess. Take a break then? I typically hold my controller how it was designed, then just set the camera up to fight. If I need to change camera angles during the fight I just flick or unlock and use rolls to navigate.

I always use my thumb on B. If i need to look while sprinting, i bring my index finger back and use that to move the stick around. I'm tall and have big hands so it might not be an option for everyone. Also took alittle practive to get coordinated using that finger on the stick. It's natural for me now.

You could use something like xpadder to remap the buttons or you could get one of those controllers with extra shoulder/back buttons like the sabertooth, wildcat, xbone elite, etc.

I use a sabertooth. Very nice being able to sprint and change weapons while keeping my thumbs on the sticks.

xpadder can only map the buttons if it thinks your using a kb/mouse right so i would lose analog range and it would just be ugly emulating kb/mouse on my controller.

I want to remap the xbox controls

You could look for software that lets you do that or get one of those controllers. The Hori FPS Assault pad lets you rebind the triggers in addition to two extra shoulder buttons but the face buttons are pretty bad. I recomend the sabertooth if rebindable triggers isn't a necessity. The wildcat and xbone elite are better but ridiculously priced and I personally don't like how the elite's extra buttons are placed.
