You never know what you're going to want to use later, or hand down to a twink.
Yeah this. Selling isn't much use. Souls are very easy to come by late game and NG+ you get tonnes. Chuck em in the box and forget about them. Never know someone/ a friend might want to trade or something.
To late I sold every item I grabbed all the way up to Farrons Keep except for the equipment I am currently using >:)

If there are things you won't use, store it in the box that you can access at bonfires.
Selling gives very little in the way of souls and there is no weight limit. Also there is always the storage box to free up the inventory.
The rest I sell to avoid cluttering up my inventory too much.
See now that makes sense! I just think this game can turn yah into a pack rat.
