Darkwraith Question

Before the fight with the Abyss Watchers, there are two darkwraiths leading to the door... The guide stated that you can permanently kill them, but after i defeated them, they came back. is there something i am missing?

I killed them many many many times and they still come back so I think that guide might be wrong?

Guide is wrong. I spent hours in that section trying to solo Abyss watchers and ended up killing those two darkwraiths more times than I could count.

There is one Darkwraith in another area that you can permanently kill, it's how you get the Red Eye Orb.

wow. that's nice. seriously, it says it. i'll post the quote from the official guide:

"There are also a couple of darkwraith styled enemies here, though you can kill them permanently. do this to ensure that your futuremovements are unhindered."

i'm 100% positive it's the two because right on the map, the quote describes them in the exact area. oh well. minor nuisance. thanks.

Yeah, that guide is kind crap, they always respawn and attack the monster protecting the boss door.

for some reason i can feel myself tense up when i meet these dark-wraiths ..and always get owned by them... hate the sodding things

Paperback guides are typically written with review/pre-release copies of the game to ensure the guide is released in tandem with the title's release. Things can change between the version of the game they have and the version you end up with. It's not the writer's fault if the game was altered or changed.

You can run around to the right and avoid them... or just let them get killed by the other enemies for easy drops.
