What's the point of the Saint Bident?

Currently doing a spear run, and unless I'm missing something obvious, it has lower damage than the starting spear, worse scaling, higher equip requirements including 16 faith with no associated damage bonus, it's much heavier than other spears, and it has no unique moves.

Why bother even putting in a weapon mid game that sucks that bad?

Those who have more faith than STR? Would be my guess. Also not sure if it can be infused by I imagine infusing with Blessed would make it hit harder.

Nope can't be infused. And at least at +0 the faith scaling is only a D, so I'm not sure how good it's going to get.

Nah, makes it weaker, but I don't have 40 faith yet, only 27, maybe it'd be better then.
Only Blessed weapons don't lower physical stat scaling that much, so you want to level up STR or Dex along with Faith to maximize damage else it does very little damage due to base damage being so low. It's just not meant for pure casters, it's for hybrids, but then they'd still deal more damage with some other infusion, so the tradeoff is lower damage to get HP regen and deal more damage to certain types of enemies.
