Befriended Giant Archer still targets me at white trees

So yeah...I befriended the giant in undead settlement and he targets all the enemies for me when I am in undead settlement. But when I goto any other white birch tree in another area he is bombarding me with arrows....is this intended or a bug?

Is he just firing at you or is he not damaging you? Befriended giant wont damage you. Also, I believe you need to have an item in your inventory, specifically i think it's the birch tree branch that the giant gives you.

Its a use item, not passive. Sadly having the item in your inventory doesn't shield you. HOWEVER! If you use it and go back to him, he'll give you another.

Yeah, he hurts me and knocks me on my ass. Maybe I do not have this item any longer for some reason. Thanks.

Not sure what happened on my first playthrough but I went back to talk to him late in the game and he was dead, leaving behind the hawk ring. So he needs to die either way if you want achievements or even just the ring.

He gives you a specific White Birch item that has a unique description mentioning that the Giant gave you it, it does not stack with the other White Birch items.

It's very dumb that it has an identical name and graphic to another item.

at least you could interact with him. he had no dialogue for me and i had to kill him.

Things that I noticed considering the Giant Archer

1° His shoots are always homing in. The AoE can still damage you even if he is friendly.

2° If he shoots at a Hollow, before the first Arrow hits, he will shoot the second. Meaning if he kills the Hollow and he drops loot, DONT RUN TO it, the second Arrow will still home in on the corpse.

3° That guy is watching several Areas at once. He must have no life... xD
